The plastic is hard on them and my roommate asked if they heat shrink but they don't. I think that's a good thing. I crimp the male and female ends and use heat shrink to cover the ends just in case and they fit my project perfectly and seem to last the rest of my life. When you crimp a plastic part, the plastic will NOT slip like some other cheap brands. When you crimp them the plastic stays in place and doesn't move. It has some nice design quality curves to keep it in place whether fresh and new or freshly crimped. There are also so many! Such a great price for quality and quantity.
