antenna must be!

Bought Cudy's USB wireless adapter here at Revain but it wasn't perfect. I would travel and suddenly "page cannot be displayed". I unplugged it from the USB hub and plugged it back in and after 5 minutes there was internet, but that got annoying quickly. My office with my servers is on the other side of the house, there are multiple walls between the router and the desktop, so Cudy will probably work for most people. The maximum I got was 585 Mbps. Sent back and bought. 780 Mbps (sometimes 833) and not a single drop in 10 days of ownership. No small feat considering the layout of my house. External antenna and MIMO function should make the difference. MIMO has been common in most routers since 2019 and connects directly to the device. Instead of, to hide the branched signal range that the adapter can connect to, MIMO connects directly to the device. Or at least tries. MIMO is an important router feature, and Cudy's lack of it was an issue. I don't like NOT maxing out my gear. It's also USB 3.0 that can make a world of difference when transferring data from device to device around the house. It probably won't affect your DOWNLOADS from your ISP unless you pay $200/month for your cable company's 1Gbps plan. I'm getting 200 Mbps, so anything above that is gravy. BUT when I need to send a file from my laptop to my desktop over an intranet, every Mbps makes a difference. It was only $2 or $3 more and the antenna and MIMO were worth it. The antenna is not only needed for the show. I can increase the signal strength by adjusting the antenna. Right now I'm flat instead of straight and my signal has gone from 585 Mbps to, like I said, 780 and even 833. I've never seen more than 625 Mbps on my desktop. Of course, I researched them as if I were buying a used car, so rest assured. Supplied with a CD with drivers. Insert the disc, run the installer, plug your device into a USB 3.0 port and you're done. After that you can play with the placement. Right-click the Wi-Fi signal icon in the lower-right corner of the taskbar and select Properties, then Status and watch the Mbps change. Find a sweet spot and leave it there. This is a great product for under $35. Mine was only $16 and change I think. TP-Link is a networking company with decades of history and doing good. Hope that helps! D 780 and even 833.
