My 6 year old is not used to wearing shoes so I wanted to buy him something very soft and comfortable for when he needs shoes. These water shoes serve a purpose. They're like socks with thin, flexible rubber soles that squeak on the floor. They have removable padded insoles. When you remove the insoles, your skin comes into contact with the rubber sole, which is not very comfortable. Unlike many water shoes, the soles don't have holes, so they don't pick up bits of mulch and rocks from the bottom. . This is ideal for outdoor play. The reinforcement on the fingers is a nice touch as it is meant to make them look a little longer. My kid says they are mostly comfortable, although the elastic around the opening feels a bit tight. Hope it expands. Also, it would be better if they were more in the shape of the foot, wider at the front and less long, but at least they are elastic. I suspect they are fraying because my child's feet are stretching the sides past the rubber sole causing the fabric to rub against the floor. With any luck, they'll last until he outgrows them, which doesn't take long.
