Two problems. 1.) The receiver did not work properly. After installing a fan on the ceiling of an 18-foot cathedral, the recipient was unable to connect due to an incorrect password. I have checked with technical support that I am using the correct password. It seems that my receiver has a defective firmware (its expiration date) and they will replace it. Now I have to pay for the second installation, which then exceeds the cost of the fan. I am 75 years old, recovering from Covid, will not climb 18ft stairs. 2.) The receiver did not fit in the sloping roof kit bag due to a sloping roof impact. It appears that the bracket cannot be rotated far enough to have the correct angle for insertion (contractor's explanation). A special installation procedure is required. If your fan is lower and you don't mind installing it twice, then go for it. So far the remote works fine, but it can't connect to smart home features or control them from your phone. If you have high fan, it is better to check if the receiver is working before installation. You seem to be aware of the issue from the replies I received. The fan is working well so far...but I bought it for the smart features...so I'm giving it a 2
