I was afraid it would be an overpowering smell, something I don't like. Luckily it's a light scent. There is some dust, but not as much as leftover coconut. The cats even used it in the presence of other boxes. It does NOT stick together so the urine stays in the box but seems to be neutralizing pretty well so far. Easier to pick up than coconut litter. So far my terrier doesn't seem to find it tasty. It won't scratch hardwood floors, it's not scary to step on, it vacuums well. A pocket fits in the small tray but not in the large boxes I usually use. It's very light weight and easier for my courier to climb the steps than the 30 lb bags I usually order.
