I live in Florida and we don't wear regular shoes at home. We have a tiled floor so bare feet and joints can be a bit difficult. I'm wearing rubber shoes that I bought at Wal-Mart a long time ago. Looks like they're a good replacement. The soles are nice and soft, but not as thick as my old ones, so they don't offer as much cushioning as I would like. They feel good on tile but not so good on carpet. I think that's partly because the top of the sole that your feet rest on has small ridges that cover the entire surface. This probably helps keep your feet from slipping in the shoes when they're wet, but they're not as good as my old ones. The bottom of the outsole has a nice tread pattern and grips pretty well when wet. This really helps on tile floors which are quite slippery when wet. It will be interesting to see how well they wear. The material is quite soft so it can replace cushioning for longer life. They fit very well when using the strap on the back of the ankle. I prefer not to use a strap because I put it on and take it off a lot. Without straps they are too big for me. Generally they are of decent quality and do the job. They're about 30% more expensive than the competition and I don't see a huge price difference.
