Review on Sex Wax Quick Basecoat Tropical by Edgardo Ennis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best base wax, be patient

I've had over 30 boards and skated in 45 to 85 degree water and the sex wax base has proven to be the most reliable for me. Everyone has their own wax preferences, but I just don't like melting or smearing wax onto the board, I just want reliable, grippy bumps. Hits can add an ounce or two, but it works for traction. Tips that have worked for me and last 6 months with regular surfing: - Really clean the board with a board wax cleaner or brine and then wipe it down with a cloth/rag. - Draw some criss-cross or fun patterns with the edge of the wax. The next step takes some time, 15-20 minutes. Apply the wax to the deck in alternating directions and allow the wax to build up on its own for 20 minutes. Here I use 1/3 or more wax. When surfing in 58-65 degree water I switch to a red or orange hardness sex wax and do another 10 minutes to add roughness. If I surf above 65 degrees I just use the base coat! - If you are surfing in very cold water, the primer may be too hard and the bumps may peel off, so red or orange will work as a primer. and it's perfect! At each session I apply a wax comb or apply base coat or red wax. Strikes are persistent and long-lasting! Good luck and keep it up!
