I use it to control the lights in the back of my closed race car trailer. The trailer used to have small lights controlled by a switch inside the trailer. Almost useless. I now have brighter headlights and can use this remote from the tow vehicle when reversing or turn it on at will at a race track etc. The remote works for about 100 feet (through the backyard). Also worked with two cars and my car trailer in between. Small cables were a bit difficult to connect to larger trailer cables in tight spaces.
