Review on ETAP by Nick Cleary

The ability to run simulations, and have results come back instantly. With that said it's lack of updates for other versions (like 7). It would be nice to use 8 so I could use newer plugins and more advanced functions. I also wish you could make more complex formulas as opposed to just what's available. In order to be a successful engineer you need to have some advanced skills. If you don't know how to set up a function or create an equation then this program will take quite long to learn. My main use for this application is to calculate powerflow graphs which helps my team design energy efficient buildings and substations with optimal use of resources. The software has been useful when trying to solve design engineering problems. I like that you can use it for any type of project, whether it be small or large scale. There are some features that have not been fully developed yet, such as 3D modeling. However, the benefits are worth it. I am solving the problem of how many solar panels would be needed to meet my energy needs. This reduces the amount of land used by the facility.
