Top too narrow for storage and organization

My 21 month old son has fallen off this stool sooo many times while brushing his teeth or playing with the sink. The top should be wider and probably also have a rib or some other type to indicate it's near the edge. I don't understand how a child could climb onto the toilet with this - how could it turn around safely? The stool is stable and doesn't slip, but it's not the best choice for a young child who doesn't know how to be "careful" yet.
