Between sizes :( fits outerwear

I've been wearing these for a while in a size S, which is a bit small for me. Slip down and squeeze my tummy too. I'm right on the measuring line between small and medium in the size chart , so I tried a medium size when replacing the old ones, unfortunately, increasing the size didn't help, M is too big.
