I was able to test the Pure Loop 120, 240 and 280. If you want fast results, they are very good and relatively quiet. They are beautifully packaged and the black and gray design suits any build. I would list the Pure Loop as one of the best closed loop coolers for $100. Let's dive in. After spending some time researching the marketing materials, I found out that Be Quiet did some real research and rigorous testing on the quality of this product. Be Quiet ran 50 pumps 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure their pump design was durable and quiet. Speaking of the pump, you may have noticed that it's on the hose and not on the processor unit. This allows Be Quiet to isolate vibration and circumvent that patent here in the US. Be Quiet also includes a coolant bottle so you can refill the unit every few years. Anything related to design and marketing shows that they stand behind their product and expect these devices to last a long time. Installation was easy. Be Quiet uses the same mounting system as their large air coolers. It is very well received because of its easy assembly and good assembly pressure. Depending on the setting, the logo on the block can be rotated 180 degrees and shines in pure white. If the pump is on top of the pipe, you need to make sure you orient the radiator so that the pump is not at the top of the loop. A top-mount heatsink in your case is always appropriate. If you need a front or rear mount the notches should be down as shown in my photos. Since the RTX 3080 is long and the H510 chassis isn't very deep, I had to route pipes over the GPU. If you have a shorter card and longer body, this probably won't be a problem. performance was very good. My overclocked 65W Ryzen 3600 CPU draws about 80W under load. It's hardly a challenge. I almost didn't notice the difference between 120, 240 and 280 units. You're unlikely to notice a difference in heatsink size until you upgrade to a 105 watt part or a very hot overclocked i9. If you have a 65W processor like the one I tested, you can definitely use the Pure Loop 120 without sacrificing performance. As expected, all three devices are very quiet. The activated fans are very close to their maximum cooling potential of about 55% from 1000 to 1100 rpm. Running the fans at 100% increases the volume significantly, but lowers the temperature by another 1-2 degrees. I would recommend a lower speed; Mine are set to max 55% and I still get great cooling. The loudest component in the system is the pump. Despite the name, it's not as quiet as you might think. All pumps are noisy. I have tested various devices from Cooler Master and Corsair, in my experience the Pure Loop pump is no louder than other devices. But because the fans are so quiet, that's what you hear most often. If you think critically, there are a few disappointments. Be Quiet included their Pure Wings 2 fans which are their economical screw bearing fans. You are very good. However, Be Quiet uses Silent Wing fans with 6-pole motors and fluid dynamic bearings in its high-end air coolers. Not sure why air coolers get premium fans and not liquid coolers? My guess is that the cheaper fans add to the Pure Loop's affordable price point. Other criticisms would be that the pump isn't PWM and it lacks RGB if that's what you were looking for. Conclusion: The Pure Loop is a very good device at a great price, especially for models with large heat sinks. They work very well and remain pretty quiet as you would expect. Using the 120mm as an example, I also tested the Corsair H60 (2018) and the Cooler Master ML120 Lite on the same system; All 3 work within a degree of each other. Therefore, you need to consider other factors to differentiate brands. The refillability of Pure Loop units is a big selling factor in my opinion, and they have quieter fans than the Corsair and Cooler Master. In terms of price, all Pure Loop models are only about ten euros apart, they do not become exponentially more expensive when the radiator gets bigger. You can buy based on the power of your processor or what fits your case, not the size you can afford. It doesn't cost Be Quiet much to produce a couple of centimeters more radiators, so the prices for different sizes of radiators stay pretty close. I wish other companies would follow suit. I found the 120mm block to be more than enough for my CPU, but the 280mm block fits and is only $20 more. Thus, this device has found a permanent place on my desktop.
