This has been my first safety razor since I made the decision to move away from cartridge razors. I definitely recommend switching to safety razors because of the quality of this razor! The long handle and good weight made shaving easy and comfortable, and learning to shave with a safety razor was easy. I prefer the darker color to the stainless steel look, and the ribbed handle makes it easier to grip. I've been using this razor regularly for about 8 months now and can definitely recommend it. I can also definitely recommend buying other blades. The razor comes with 5 blades from QShave which are incredibly blunt and unforgiving. A lot of people are just learning how to shave with a safety razor and it's hard to learn with boxed blades. I quickly purchased Shark Super Chrome blades, which became my new choice, but I'd recommend buying a test set for the job (and not using the boxed blades entirely).
