Review on Gourmet Basics Sierra Metal Buffet Stand with Removable Acacia Serving Trays in Antique Black - by Mikasa by Kaushik Inlawker

The trays are beautiful - the stand has limited use due to the size

5.0 stars for these wooden shelves with metal handles. This sideboard stand is smaller than it may appear in the photo (at least for me) but it mostly works for what I want to use it for. It's well built and sturdy. Wooden trays with metal handles are my favorite part - I would use them without the iron stand too. Very easy to assemble - everything you need is included. Assembly takes 5 minutes. I believe that for just under $55 you're getting quality materials, but it still feels a bit pricey. It has limited utility. For example, the spacing between the shelves (the second and third shelves) is problematic — the opening is only about five inches, making it difficult to access and pull things out. I don't know how you're going to serve snacks/snacks/party snacks when the trays are on the counter and you have to put very small pieces inside; However, for small bites, I think the whole idea is to eat food and then put the trays away to move around the room or go out into the street to be served. But it should be a small party with a few people as they are quite small. That little space between shelves is also problematic for what I use it for - in one of my bathrooms. I arrange towels, soap, candles etc. on trays. The top tray has a handle so I can put a few towels, a bar of soap and a few other things in it. But on the other two trays I had to put things that didn't need to be used daily or that I needed to take out for infrequent use. Although it is small, it takes up a lot of space. Maybe making it double walled would help. Or don't use a stand at all. I ended up taking out the middle wooden tray and using it in my bathroom (then the middle tray stays in a rack with metal mesh but it still looks nice and adds interest) - I keep my creams, lotions and the like on a single one wooden tray so that I can take the whole tray and put it away when I have company; I love it and it looks great on my bathroom countertop. It has a rustic look that suits my decor. I like it but as I wrote above it has limited application. However, these wooden trays are so beautiful that I would even consider removing the stand part just for occasional use and using these little wooden trays here and there for everyday use/decoration - they are really good!
