07/17/2021 - AMD has isolated and fixed an issue with the USB device. Well, good news: problems, crashes and even popping noises have been fixed! 5 Stars! AMD motherboards based on the X570 have had known USB issues. Although AMD has persistently tried to address and fix most known issues with BIOS updates, it still doesn't work well with USB audio today. (June 15, 2021). My Sound Blaster Katana froze today, but with AMD updates, at least it didn't crash Windows as completely as it used to. Now only the sound of katana freezes, but it's annoying, loud and unpredictable. I'm a gamer and it might freeze randomly. Not good. My workaround was to connect it to the built-in audio via an optical cable and disconnect it from the USB entirely. This works with the subwoofer and sounds good, but you lose all of Creative's "advanced" features, including the use of Sound Blaster software controls. internal PCI-based card and connect speakers to it. For now I'm happy with this workaround. I'm not a huge audiophile so reliability and predictability are far more important than their useless DSP sound fields etc.
