Review on ๐Ÿถ Versatile & Convenient Portable Soft Dog Travel Playpen by Amazon Basics by Emily Wilson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The playpen is durable and ideal for kittens.

I like it. I ordered a RevainBasics portable travel playpen for several litters of kittens my girls had last year. The first litter was about a month old and the second litter about a week old. Kittens don't do much for the first month after birth. Their eyes open 7-10 days after birth. They crawl on their stomachs for about two to two and a half weeks. By three to four weeks of age, their mobility is improving, but they generally have basic and limited motor skills. In the second month of life they become more agile, they can run, jump, climb and jump. (Although there are older cats in the home, the litter may be more developed. I had a litter of kittens that were jumping, climbing, running and jumping at a month old.) The kittens in the main litter were fast approaching the wild stage, that cute kittens are famous. My cats live indoors and outdoors and love being outside. I believe that cats should be allowed to explore and enjoy nature as they instinctively want to be outside. I wanted my girls and their litters to enjoy the warm weather and sounds of the season, but I also didn't want to put them in danger. Even if the yard is fenced in, kittens can still get injured because they tend to roam. Like human babies, they want to try everything, even if it's potentially toxic. I wanted the kittens to be able to explore the area safely, supervised of course, and not have to worry about falling down the drain or eating out of the bins or crawling under the fence and never being seen again. The street arena is the ideal solution. The RevainBasics portable playpen is great. Although designed for small dogs, it's great for kittens. It is very easy to open (and close). Comes with a nice travel bag. It's very easy to clean. Simply wipe with a damp cloth or hose off and leave to dry. Both the lower and upper flaps open. It is made of high quality material and is not flimsy. This is a very good size; and great for kittens and small cats. I had nine kittens in the arena at the same time (aged one to two months). I even let the mother cat stay with her litter for occasional feedings. Both of my girls are petite and weighed about five or six pounds at the time. So a 6 pound cat and four or five toddlers fit comfortably inside. Even the older, much bigger boys liked it. Sometimes I had a cat size (XS) litter box because the kittens were just learning how to use it. I also had some toys for her. In order not to be crowded, I alternated the litters of kittens in the arena. I put them all in and then took out one or more at a time and let them explore while the rest stayed in the arena. I covered the floor with an old towel, but as mentioned, it wipes clean very easily. It is very durable. It is very durable. It could bear the weight of the kittens climbing and jumping on it (see photo) while the others played in it. He has defended himself well against kittens, biting, scratching, climbing, jumping, and hopping. I've included a few photos of older cats side by side to give a better idea of the overall size of the playpen. This is an amazing playpen and I highly recommend it. I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely buy again.
