Great if you have a month to dry a small enclosed space

Rather dissatisfied with this product. Remember I'm not angry - he does what he says he does. But he is dissatisfied - because he only does what he says he does. The problem is that claiming it removes up to 300ml of water per day is "satisfactory" even if it only removes a drop of water in 24 hours. Anything over 0ml can rightly be called UP TO 300ml. Well this device works up to 300ml in 2-3 days and instead of emptying the tank every other day I had to wait almost a week for it to reach the point where it cut off. It should only extract it slowly if the room (bathroom) had low humidity, which of course it wasn't. Perhaps the first thing to understand is that even if he's collecting 300ml of water a day, it's not a lot - it's 10 fl oz; less soda cans. So we're looking for less than a tablespoon an hour. If you think about it, a cold can of soda sitting on the counter in a warm room actually draws water faster than this device. (Though it stopped once the drink in the can warmed.) I really need more than a tablespoon an hour (and I didn't even get that). The Northeastern United States is humid year-round and gets crazy in the summer. My bathroom is kept at a stifling 70 percent humidity, and that's before anyone takes a shower or bath. After this? Forget it. This device was supposed to be filled in there every day, but there was no difference in the measured humidity in the room, probably because it was rising much faster than the tank sweetness could reduce it. If you're serious about reducing humidity in a room, or even a small space during the day, you need something a lot more than this has to offer. It's cute as hell and fits snugly on my small toilet tank. Extremely quiet. It was only audible as a low hum if you sat on the toilet with your ears a few inches away. The air blown in from above was slightly warm - not enough to noticeably raise the temperature in the room, but also not what you want when trying to dehumidify. I'll probably bring it back and look for something more ambitious.

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • Expensive
