Is that really a Mercruiser?

Not sure what's going on here. The Mercruiser needs some quality control. The hat fits awfully. The underside of the cover is uneven and wobbles on the manifold. The old cap is fine. I checked the flatness on the mirror and yes the lid is not flat. It also has no metal inserts in the screw holes. Send back.
