This is a great trimmer. I've had it for a little over a year now and it's still working well for a $16 purchase. I like to keep my bush clean and tidy but not completely bald and this is perfect for that. I used to use scissors to quickly trim off the excess but once I made a mistake and the next day I bought this. I always use it on the shortest setting with protection on and I never cut myself. I've tried without the Guard which gives a much closer shave (not like a razor but shorter) but I found the remaining stubble was too scratchy for my liking and I prefer the short but even one length of cut to use the guard. TIPS: Only use it on dry hair, otherwise your head will be clogged with trimmed hair. I like to use it right before showering. Plus, using it on dry hair makes it easy to remove the attachment and brush your head so you don't have to wet it to clean. I wash my guard, clean my head and then spray them with alcohol after each use.
