Review on πŸ“» Sangean DT-200X Black Portable Digital Pocket Radio with FM-Stereo/AM Tuning by Jose Miller

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Pleasantly surprised, but could be better

The included earbuds were in the molded cut outs of the plastic blister pack and one of them broke when I took it out of the box. Likewise, they are not comfortable at all and their sound quality is poor. The foam padding is next to nothing and they were like having hard plastic objects stuffed into my ears. If I decide to go this route, I will use a higher quality headphone or headphones. The built-in speaker works better than I thought. Of course, if you unscrew it all the way, there will be distortion. I was a bit disappointed with the DDB feature. It didn't make a big difference in sound quality. The sound is bigger in the highs and could do with more bass in my opinion. Setup is very easy and 19 presets are more than enough. When using the longer cable as an antenna, reception was slightly better than when listening to FM with the shorter cable. Even if you have an antenna connected and listen to AM, the reception is not good and better when no antenna is connected to listen to AM. I found the sound quality to be very good when using the headphones. Especially when it comes to noise canceling headphones. With headphones, the quality wasn't as good. I love the Sangean's clock and locking features. Requires only 2 AA batteries, making the radio light and small. I am happy with this purchase.

Pros
  • Large backlit LCD, Stereo/Mono switch, Stereo headphone jack, Low battery indicator, Auto shut off after 90 minutes, DBB dynamic bass boost, Lock switch, My favorite stations and real time clock time fade
