I was trying to solder a racing drone with it. I was new to soldering and didn't realize that the more heat the better. my solder melted and all. Works great, heats up to the right temperature. There is no temperature control, but all solder joints were cold. That's all my fault because I have one with a low temp. This iron works well if the characteristics meet your needs, but if you're going to be soldering with solder that melts at 400 degrees Fahrenheit, you'll need a hotter iron. I ended up buying another iron that was hotter and better for the work I was doing with it.
