We had this holder in our old house but the casters that hold brooms and mops were not spring loaded, they used gravity and the weight of the broom to move the Broom to clamp between the roller and the rubber pad. The rollers on this holder are spring loaded and the springs are very heavy. It was difficult to get into the broom stand and I had to knock it out of the stand. I scratched the wall with a broom trying to pry it off its mount, which is my fault, but that effort isn't necessary. I took it apart and tried rolling out the feathers to soften them but that didn't work. The bottom line is that the holder is solid, well made and easy to assemble, but it does not serve its intended purpose.
