As a recovering LASIK patient, I found it difficult to concentrate on computer screens after surgery. The doctor recommended 1.0X reading glasses to reduce eye strain. After trying cheap eyewear at the drugstore/dollar store to no avail, I decided on these based on the high reviews. I have to say that these are much better because they sit properly on my face without slipping off and they are full size and don't press my head. As others have said, the extreme edges of the viewport aren't as sharp as the center, but rotating your head doesn't distort the images as you move. With other glasses, this can be a problem because turning your head can make you dizzy, for example when you're looking at a large computer screen or two monitors, and you have to move your head to see different parts of the screen. . I believe that the way manufacturers shape the lens is a balance between motion distortion and edge distortion because they contradict each other. This pair is more suitable for solving the first problem, which works for me as a computer user and engineer. Just for reading books, you should try a pair that offers magnification to the edges of the lens, as you don't usually turn your head when reading a small book. I hope that makes sense.
