They're cheap, their only strong point besides being easy to put on (but they also tend to fall off, mine). They work a little, but not in the way you'd hope. They stay on my feet and don't bother me while walking, but even when I consciously test them on a shiny surface of ice, I get only moderate support. I doubt it would have saved me from a really unexpected error. We also have boots with 9 equal little spikes on the bottom, a very different experience.
