Review on πŸš— Enhanced Car Audio Crossover BX55 with Remote Subwoofer Control by BOSS Audio by Maxwell Thomas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

AMAZING versatility for the price.

I bought two of these crossovers due to my complex needs and at a very reasonable price. I have 12 speakers driven by 5 amplifiers for a total of 10 channels. Each channel pair has unique frequency requirements. I needed a high pass for my tweeters in the doors, I needed a wide midrange filter for the 6.5" kick panels and console. For the rear I needed a low pass high pass filter for some satellite mini speakers and I needed a direct bass input for my two mono block amps driving four 10 inch subwoofers. I researched quite a few crossovers until I found this one. I have used two Yamaha YEC-400 crossovers since the late 1980's. However, I wanted to upgrade to 4" Polk coax in the doors and the Yamaha didn't have a low enough treble cutoff for what I was trying to do. This crossover offers excellent flexibility in both variable cutoff frequency, including frequency overlap, and amazing I/O capabilities. The additional bass boost option works great, making four 10s sound like 12-inch subwoofers. I could go on and on about how my entire system is configured, but suffice it to say these crossovers were PERFECT for my application. I even had a leftover set of outputs to drive my 19" rackmount volume meter that I had installed in a car show case. UPDATE: I've finally refined my system. I added noise gates to my 20 year old Pioneer DEQ-7600 because of residual noise between tracks. However. These crossovers have REALLY allowed me to really tune my system. My sound stage is right in front of my face and the bass outshines the surround sound in any home theater. I really like music mixed/processed with a sub-octavisor (search).
