I didn't believe the hype surrounding the Wool Dryer Balls but decided to give them a try as we plan on using cloth diapers. i.e. without the use of liquid fabric softeners or dryer sheets. I prepared them according to the instructions and some tips from the internet. and have been using them for a few months and they really make a huge difference in drying time. I have a Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer because we have a large family so I use all six every time I load the dryer and I started using medium instead of high and our laundry still dries faster and although I can't tell what the winter droop is, so far I've had NO problems with droop. What I like best is that the jeans are now completely dry (no more wet pockets!). I took some essential oil and put a few drops on it about every two weeks. I just try not to use too much and let it sit for about an hour before using them as there have been reports of fire risks with some of the cheaper oils that may contain alcohol. You just have to find out which fragrance suits you best. I think we love the combination of lavender, cedarwood and a little bit of sweet orange oil. Tip: If you're just trying to get rid of wrinkles, you can dampen them a bit and tumble dry on low and they'll be smoothed out with steam! It's great for shirts for photo shoots and for creating a "new fold" on tablecloths and curtains!
