Persistent; Quality retrofit bar tool

I'm comparing this Peugeot Clavelin to my much more expensive old LaGuiole Sommelier series corkscrew. The Peugeot model is definitely worth the money. The elements are not as refined and rounded as in LaGhiola's best works. Peugeot features a more robust design, with the foil cutter resting on a solid metal support. After years of use, my LaGuiole foil corkscrew has loosened to the point that it protrudes excessively beyond the shaft of the device. Both products are equipped with a suitable and practical spiral screw for lifting the cork. The Peugeot corkscrew features a spring-loaded lifting mechanism that allows you to lift a long cork without reinstalling the screw. Compared to cheaper corkscrews: The cheap and basic ones found on winery shelves work quite well for a short time. They don't last long. The scales weaken or break; joints fail. Peugeot offers a working tool at a reasonable price.
