I was looking for an inexpensive and compact printer, ideally a laser printer. I was shocked that the selection turned out to be more than expected. After some reading, I decided on this compact printer – mainly because of the size. On top of that this is also a laser printer, I was happy. However, based on my past experiences with printers, I was still skeptical that my experience would consist of connecting a wireless printer to my new MacBook (also a new user). All in all I am super satisfied. Happy enough to load reviews and photos. The item arrived on time and well packaged. I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of cables and booklets that were included. And when I saw the CD I had a little panic attack because I hadn't seen CDs in ages. Also, I saw the USB cable and thought oh no! I better keep the packaging so I can send it back. Out of the box, I plugged the printer into the wall and *luckily* had a USB adapter to plug into the latest computer plugs. I read the brochure and realized that I needed to download the Mac driver. I did and the installer was very helpful. I opened the installer and it really guided me through all the steps. Remember that the printer was now connected directly to my computer *not sure if that helped*. Key Point: During the installation, there was a step that asked me if I wanted to set up a Wi-Fi connection. I said yes and he did everything himself. I've never had to type anything manually, and voila, it worked! I would recommend Pantum to include the final step, which is printing a test page. I went ahead and found the page on the internet and printed it out. I was so excited. It's also nice that the printer wakes up when I'm typing without having to press any keys. I should also not forget to mention that the laser printer cartridge is already in the printer and you need to take it out, shake it * probably mix the ink composition? * and put it back. Then add paper and you're done. My cons are ultimate and very few. One of them is the number of brochures and cables. It was really a lot and made me feel like I missed a step and felt a lot more overwhelming than it actually was. There are quite a few typos and random screenshots in the instructions for Windows and none for Mac. If you are looking for a basic little silent laser printer for less than a hundred dollars I would recommend this one!
