Review on πŸšͺ Transform Your Front & Interior Doors with Giani Wood Look Paint Kit in English Oak by Djkutt Kent

Surprised with the result - used on previously painted metal doors

We had old but well maintained metal front and side doors and wanted something nicer for no money. I figured why not try it as the reviews were split and the price was right. Cons - Takes a long time when it's humid outside (probably wait until fall if recommended) - Pretty long time to get it right - Make sure the primer/primer is applied well, otherwise wherever you go have "old" color, translucent when stained. We used the masking tape method for the contour lines, there was some peeling off the primer, which (as mentioned above) you might notice if I tried to paint. Good luck with that and also with the stain brush) - Cost is minimal (if you don't like it, just repaint the door) - Stain mistakes are easy to fix Tips - We cleaned the door and primed the first day - Day 2 Us painted in 3 layers - Use the edge of the mitten to get a more natural texture of the wood. If you have a smear layer - correct your mistakes with each layer (stain allows you to "wipe" all heavy areas from the previous layer) - keep a mitten in a plastic bag between layers - do not glue the horizontals , use a piece of cardboard or try freehand (we only glued the side of the frame) - there should be about an hour between layers. So far the doors have held up well to rain, moisture, dogs and bugs. So I'm glad I spent $40 versus a few hundred or more on new doors.
