We did 3 layers of this, and used a primer before. We bought the Jolie wax to use as a protector, but seeing that would take 2 weeks to harden, we did some research on what to use, as we noticed that this paint was so easy to wipe off with a damp cloth.We bought an Extra Flat polycryl coat, put it on and everything ruined. Polycryl should work with this kind of paint, but in this case, lots of stripes and blotches. We're back at where we started with this dresser. I can just cry.

We loved this paint! Amazing coverage and great to use. This is what our rehabbed bar looked like after three coats - definitely needed three coats for complete coverage. No smell so we painted it in our living room, and even with the old paint chipping, it only needed to be wiped down and generally smoothed (did not need sanding all over first). Highly recommend, worth the price.

So here are some personal pros and cons to this product.Pros, the finish is a fantastic satin finish. This paint seems to smooth out the brush strokes on it own as it dries. So awesome! Almost an air brushed look without all the extra work! Probably the best chalk type paint that I've ever used before. I ordered the forest green and was not disappointed in the color. (Also, I've tried several different brands of chalk paint over the years; this by far has the competitors beat. Even over Dixie…

Does the job, two coats was enough for a good finish. A little pricey for the size but I’d buy again for another project. Thanks for attention!

I did not believe that this would work with no prep, but it did! I used 3 coats and refinished a chest of drawers, a nightstand and a wardrobe. This color is stunning! It looked really purple when ibstarted, and I did not like it; however, it dries with a much darker velvety look. I am so pleased. It is a beautiful deep plum or dark cherry. My only problem is finding the perfect wax to finish it.

We have a bathroom in our cabin that was built in 1977.green and white wallpaper, old fixtures. I wanted a cheap update and painting the old wood cabinets did more than I was hoping! I didn't have to sand it first.it did need two coats, and I need to finish with a glaze or wax on top. I LOVE the color.better than expected!

I have worked with many paints as a refinisher! This covers very well for a light color. The can is a tough one to close again, but good quality chalk paint!

I used this to paint an old dark veneer desk. Amazing results! So easy to work with, beautiful coverage ( I did use two coats, but painted a light color over a dark one). Added new hardware and it looks like a new piece of furniture

I love the quality of these paints, but this red was an odd color. Almost appeared to have an orange undertone. Hard to explain but it won’t work for what I need it for

So many ridiculous reviews I was super happy to find this affordable chalk paint. This did not perform well. At least 3 coats for any pigment and then streaks and it comes off so easy. No thanks.
