Review on Bluetooth AGPTEK Lossless A02ST Expandable by Vincent Blitz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If your fingers are smarter than your brain, buy something else.

I have several regular (non-Bluetooth) Agptec A02 players at home. For the gym, travel, running, sleeping, etc. At $25 each plus memory card, they're very affordable. Best value for money, period. I've now tried this new bluetooth version which pretty much keeps all the features of the original player with some improvements like more internal and external storage, less audible electronic hum and slightly better graphics. So far I've used them with the following wireless headphones: Sennheiser Impulse and Shure ES 215 over-ear and in-ear headphones. Pairing was easy and the connection is fairly reliable, on par with most Bluetooth devices. Also tried wired Shure ES 215 and cheap Panasonic 120 (working). This player delivers very good sound quality and its small size and light weight make it the perfect companion for any activity. The manual mentions a limit on the number of songs you can have, but it basically means how many songs you can manage. by music catalogue. If you are using the Folders and Files option, this does not apply. Your only limit is gigabytes of storage. Attention: no touchscreen. You'll have to navigate and search using the buttons on the front, which means you'll have to turn on your brain (yes, an old-school requirement almost unheard of today). Mindless finger sliding is not an option! Update March 5, 2021: I recently paired this player with my new Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 headphones and Jabra Elite Active 75t headphones, it took about 1-2 minutes to detect, pair and connect. no drama. The button press functions of all my cordless phones work correctly with this player (volume up or down, pause, resume, skip, back). Additionally, the Sennheiser Momentum Over-Ears produce significantly better sound in Bluetooth mode than in wired mode, suggesting that Agptek's internal amplifier isn't powerful enough for larger speakers.
