I started CPAP therapy which requires distilled water in a humidifier. Distilled water does not contain any contaminants that can cause respiratory irritation. Using distilled water also prevents mineral deposits from building up in the humidifier. A home distiller can save you trips for non-sustainable containers. It's cheaper and better for the environment in the long run. This burner effectively processes a gallon in about 4 hours. Of course, getting in and out of gallons requires a lot of yards of space. The fan is large and a bit noisy, but it's necessary to generate the volume it handles at this speed. For the price this is a very good device.
