All my devices were connected with long cables. I try to keep things in order. Instead, the top of my desk was always a mess of cables. Which port a particular device is connected to could be determined by looking at cable labels; but that didn't lessen the mess. So I ordered some short cables: ½ foot, 1 foot, and 1.5 feet to replace every 5 feet and 6 feet. Genus. Good quality colored cables, CAT6 and connected devices work great. This is what my desktop looks like now. Okay, there's still plenty of spaghetti, but trust me, it's way better than before.
