Review on QUANTITIES TrackmateGPS Concealable Waterproof Motorcycle by Chucky Hepler

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Best in class for the Caribbean

Update: The 10 second response for the bike to exit the ring guard has now increased to an average of 10 minutes and sometimes I don't understand it at all. I don't know what the problem is, but it has existed since January, so I lowered my overall rating by one star! Hopefully I can still find the bike if someone steals it but now they have at least a 10 minute head start. This is a great device for tracking motorcycle owners. I live in the Caribbean where bicycle theft, mainly by young riders, is becoming more common. So common that there is no longer any theft insurance! My motorcycle was stolen and when it was found a month later it was almost unrecognizable. It turns out that buying a new bike is cheaper than replacing all the broken and removed parts. To be absolutely sure that I get warnings when the bike starts moving, I first hardwired the ignition wire (orange) to +VE. Battery cable (red), but if you do not ride a motorcycle for a few days, the battery will discharge. I then completely disconnected the ignition wire, but quite often the location showed the bike was about 75 meters from the final location, presumably where the last GPS reading came from. The ignition fixed this problem and after moving the ignition wire there was no battery drain issue. Another issue that needed fixing was that my cell phone was not receiving any notifications as the major cell phone providers in the Caribbean no longer have email gateways on the cell phone. I was able to solve my problem by purchasing this service from TextMagic, but now TrackMateGPS also offers this service for an additional fee. The device is very simple and easy to install and hide in the motorcycle. I've been using the tracker for 2 months now and working with the people at TrackMateGPS has been great. I have three places where my motorcycle is most often parked, in the form of crash barriers, and within 10 seconds of exiting one of these barriers, a text message pops up on my phone.
