This item is a great way to play video games! For me, my TV only has 2 HDMI ports, which makes owning multiple consoles a hassle. With this device I can connect 5 of my consoles via 1 TV port! It's great that it has a remote control, which means I don't even have to get out of my chair to switch consoles (except to turn consoles on and off, I think). The device will automatically search for any port that is currently broadcasting the channel, which can also be handy. There is no noticeable lag when playing, which is always an issue! The only downside I see with this unit is that the remote has an eye line to the unit...this makes hiding the cords a bit trickier but as you can see from the photos I managed to get it and them neat enough to hide.
