The Vargo Titanium Spork is an excellent choice for relatively light, very strong and very functional hiking gear. While not the lightest fork on the market, it is one of the best in terms of ease of use and comfort. The bowl of the spoon is big enough for you to hold enough sized pieces of food, but not too big. The fork tines are fairly effective, if not as good as the fork-end tines on Light My Fire Spork; Fortunately, unlike the Light My Fire fork, there's no "knife" on the side edge to irritate the mouth. The grip feels much more solid than some of the thinner, ultralight sporks, but has embossed cutouts to reduce weight. It's also thick enough that you can optionally bend down the back edge of the handle to catch the rim of your pot so it doesn't fall into the pot/food when you set it down. And of course, you can also use the hole in the tail to attach it to a key ring, piece of paracord, wire strip or other fastener to create a handy wrist strap, or securely attach it to part of your backpack. or a kitchen set so you never lose it. All in all, it's as good as it gets. The only drawback (if you can call it that) is a little more weight. The advertised 0.5 ounces per spork is incorrect. Both paddles I received weigh 18 grams (0.6 ounces), but that's a reasonable weight for such a handy device. If you want to reduce the weight even more, you can cut the handle just below the Vargo logo, which will likely reduce the weight by about 4 grams in exchange for a little less comfort when it comes to grabbing a spoon or yours to hold fingertips. cool and clean when mixing food.
