They are super bright. If I didn't know better, I'd say they're LEDs. (They might be, idk) They're really bright though. DO NOT shine them in anyone's eyes. They're smaller than I thought they were, and they run on FOUR AA batteries! D: . They sent the batteries with them, but to be honest if they die I doubt I'll ever change them. There are simply too many batteries for a flashlight. So far the batteries seem to be holding up well. If you have more than one flashlight (e.g. on your wrist - even if you have to carry many at once, e.g. for children) - they ring together and make a sound like they're clinking on glass, but that's it completely normal . They've been dropped by little hands a few times and haven't broken, so that's a plus. Honestly. I needed her for a walk and this was the best deal. We have more than we need, FAST. They will be useful until they die, at which point they will probably never have their batteries replaced. Ouch! We have not tested their water resistance. Little hands took out the battery and put it in the water, then put it back in and it still worked. so i think maybe that counts? LAUGH OUT LOUD.
