I am not a tripod specialist. I have been actively engaged in amateur photography since I was about 14 years old. I was in the school photo club, published pictures in the local papers and was a photographer for our school yearbook. From then on, my photos were really just family photos, apart from the occasional wedding photo, which was talked about word of mouth for those who couldn't afford the $3,000 plus for a pro (I made no profit). I always had a tripod, but it was cheap. My last tripod was the inexpensive Velbon 7000. Ever since my wife and I started traveling, needing to take scenic photos with both of us in the frame, meant more use of radio remote control and tripod. I decided on a decent tripod and after a lot of searching settled on this Manfrotto 190 ball head pack. Oh man! What a good tripod! I should have invested in a better tripod years ago! You can check the features through online video reviews but I am very happy with this purchase. I'm really looking forward to using it for our landscape selfie photos as well as some night photos. By the way, a word to the wise. When you take travel photos for personal use or other personal photography, you need to capture photos of yourself and your family. Don't rely on passers-by to use your camera. You are most likely not formatting it properly, they'll cut off their legs, cut off their heads, and screw it up somehow innocently. Get some kind of remote shutter release and a good tripod! You will appreciate the photos! photos of mountains, coasts,
