I work in court cases and often have trouble getting court transcripts from local court stenographers accurately. Although English is the official language of the court in the Philippines, not all stenographers are native speakers. The ICD-P520 digital voice recorder has more than enough power to record even the longest court hearings, which I load onto my laptop for reference when correcting transcripts and reviewing witness statements. It's also quick, easy, and convenient to make MP3 copies of transcripts for my secretary and even the court stenographer. Clarity is very good, but I would recommend an external omnidirectional microphone to capture more detail. I often use a small, bi-directional stereo microphone from a Walkman tape recorder.
