Review on Backcountry Access Tracker Avalanche Transceiver Outdoor Recreation by Eddie Simpkins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Buy it. wear it - Backcountry Gear

Bought and now skis every day. Avalanches happen both at depth and in the outback. This transceiver can also help you locate a friend who has fallen into a hole, hollow in a tree, or disappeared into deep snow. I felt a bit uncomfortable the first few times I wore it, but now that it's fully customized it just goes with my outfit. Sign up for avi courses if you can, but learning the basics isn't difficult. Watch the video, read the instructions and learn how to use, expanding your learning as you go. The instructions on their website are clear and even include videos. This is what you need to stay in the mountains. And always remember to turn the transceiver on or off when you are near other people searching!

Pros
  • Weight 7.6 ounces (including batteries, no harness)
