Think about what you want to use them for!

What matters most is which wall you mount it on. If the drywall is on an interior wall, USE SCREWS and they will attach securely. If you need to install them in drywall fired with a cinder block, you'll need to use the supplied mollies (or buy better ones). What they give is junk and starts ripping drywall before the screws are securely in place. In this case you definitely don't want to weigh them down as they will eventually break out of the wall. (We'll look at alternative fixings when we get the chance. Also, the holes aren't drilled in a straight line, so if you want to mount even shelves you'll need to line them up on the wall with a spirit level and carefully mark where the holes actually are. The shelves themselves are thinner than the photo. They are proportionate and look nice. We wanted to paint them to match the other finishes in the room and they look great with primer and alkyd paint. If you just paint them / want to polish, the problem is that the glue they were assembled with bleeds over the base in a few places and doesn't hold up a fine finish very well without a lot of sanding, so if you want to mount them on interior walls, buy shift studs to keep a reasonable weight and while you stroke them they should work pretty well.
