I really want to like these shoes. The protector is great for some spin maneuvers during the 24 and 48 Chen Style Taiji Shapes, unfortunately I couldn't find the right size. I started with model A in size 9 and it was too loose. Heel to safely perform any type of rotation, both on the ball of the foot and on the heel. I returned this through Whole Foods (super convenient and easy) and ordered an 8.5Y model. When the 8.5Y model arrived it was snug around the entire foot but felt like it was pinching my big toe and blocking blood flow. I wrote a comment to the seller and he refunded the cost of the shoes. I bought a size 9 Y thinking it was the ticket but for some reason my thumb still felt tight and my heel just slipped out of the shoe when walking. Not sure if this is a design flaw or just my feet but overall not a success for me. I will look for something with laces or straps which will probably be a bit more expensive but can be adjusted to my foot.
