Bought these "socks" for my mom. She is 76 years old and has very sensitive skin. During her recovery from a hip fracture, bruises and tears became a major problem on her shins. The compression stockings were either uncomfortable, too thin or too loose. I found them by making my search more specifically "defensive". I ordered Wednesday. My mother wears size 4/6 pants. She is about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 116 pounds. They appear very small in the package but are quite stretched. After trying them on, she said she wanted two more pairs. I haven't had the experience yet to test their effectiveness against wounds, but just wearing them makes them more alert and feels safer. That's what I wanted.
