I've had another one of these that looks similar to this one from a different brand for years . But I can assure you they are NOT the same. Another uses Anyma and uDMX drivers instead of an FTDI and Open DMX chip like this one. The other was Lixada and it was TERRIBLE to set up drivers and control lights. He has almost always only worked with Freestyler on Windows and OLA on Raspberry Pi. But in both cases, as soon as I added a second light, it also caused flickering and all sorts of problems, even with a DMX terminator at the end. Eventually I got tired of fighting it and took this one. It was a breeze to install on both Windows and my Raspberry Pi. I didn't use the driver CD that came with it, I used the drivers from the Windows website. The Pis didn't need drivers for the software I use. Open DMX works great with it. No problem adding a second, third or fourth light with a terminator on the last light. Are there better and more expensive products? Absolutely. But does it work great (especially for the price) definitely yes. If you want to connect and control DMX lighting for your computer, I highly recommend trying this product.
