I recently got my hands on a Rode Gun Mic and while a pendant mount on my camera will suffice for most projects I do, there are opportunities (e.g. field records, short stories) where the Boom will be really useful. I knew I would probably only shoot a barbell 2-3 times a year, so I didn't want to pay hundreds for a barbell, but I didn't want anything weak or loud either. I found everything that suited my needs for under $100 and I was skeptical when I saw it was under $50. To be honest, the only reason I bought it was because I was very happy with the other Neewer products I've bought (particularly my Full Color Spectrum Dual Dimmable LED Bulb Kit, the for the price is INCREDIBLE). My expectations were exceeded as soon as I took the rod out of the box. It's definitely "all there," a lot more metal than plastic, and it didn't feel like a toy. It was firm, but not "heavy" and really well balanced in terms of weight. Quality extension zips and three cute Velcro straps to secure the XLR cable. There are padded top and bottom handles, which while not very comfortable, don't see an issue after a few hours of use. I didn't notice any unwanted noise made by the bar and it worked well in a range of indoor and outdoor environments, from fully closed to fully extended. Great work Neewer - keep it up!
