This exercise pad is awesome! My little friend uses it when I'm not at home and he REALLY needs to go. He doesn't use it just because it's there, he really only uses it when he just can't wait anymore. He holds very little urine. I haven't had any leakage issues. As for washing. It's a pee pad, it's meant to be used for, well, peeing, and since it's not clothing I'm not worried about sanitizing or high temperature drying. I want to wash it quickly and be ready for reuse, and I want it to last a long time, so I do a 15 minute quick wash and tumble dry for 20 minutes on medium heat. It has already been washed at least 20 times and neither the looks nor the usefulness have changed. This is a great size for small dogs. I have a boy 12 kg. He has enough space to roam around and find a "good spot". I don't think it works that well for a larger dog.
