Looks decent big mistake IMO

I ordered this to replace a similar item I had because the projection on the one I had would auto turn off after a while and me before bed there is another task. When I received the Electrohome clock it was well packaged and without even looking at the instructions I was able to make out the functions of the various buttons although I had no intention of using most of them. That probably sets me apart from other consumers of this product. I only wanted this for the clock/projection functions as I use my phone as an alarm clock and I already have music in the house so the radio function is not needed either. Everything is great so far; However, as I plugged it in and proceeded to adjust the projection format, I found that the display orientation can only be adjusted in two ways - each is 180 degrees from the other. It would be nice if, with the clock face facing the bed, as if it were lying on a bedside table, the projection was oriented so that you could read it properly while lying down, but that's not the case. It sticks out parallel to the length of the bed. So when you're lying in bed, the display orientation is sideways, regardless of how the projection orientation is set. In order for it to appear in the orientation you would normally read, the clock itself needs to be rotated so that the face is facing towards the foot of the bed (essentially if you're looking at the clock itself when you're lying down, all you see page be). That seems illogical. With this setting, the projection is on the side of the bed (above the bedside table), preventing my wife (who cannot see well without glasses/contacts) from seeing it at all. Common sense seems to dictate that the dial always faces the bed, so I'm at a loss as to why the projected time orientation is rotated 90 degrees (or 270) relative to it. I know there are some of these that allow adjustment in 90 degree increments, which would be the optimal design.
