I received this adapter to fit a new Sony head radio into my 1999 Mustang base. The factory wiring is incomprehensible, and the wiring harness is the best choice for installing a new system. I matched the radio wires to the wire harness colors, connected everything together and everything was tight and secure. The only surprise was that the basic radio has a small amplifier. So if you are installing a new device with a wire harness, be sure to wire the wires so that that device gets sound. One last tip: use heat shrink tubing, crimp connectors, or clips to connect the audio cable. I tried wire nuts the first time and half of them fell off when installing the radio in the dash.
