I bought this for small soldering projects, miniature painting and some other crafts. I need at the specified time It also had an extra clip that would come in handy if it got lost or damaged. The base I installed on my desk holds my cutting mat in place well and for the most part doesn't get in the way. There were a few times I wanted my hands to be in a completely different part of the table. It's not hard on your time to move it, but it's not uncomfortable. You can't use it in the middle of the workspace. The arms have a good long reach. Hands, they're tough. It's good, I don't want them hitting on you, but it makes it difficult to get ready for dinner. I imagine they may weaken over time.
