Don't buy, spend a little more on something your kids can use. I have 8 years and 4 years. The younger cannot turn on the toothbrush as the knobs are too tight and my 8 year old is struggling. Never had a problem turning the toothbrush on, that button is very tight. On top of that they have been in use for about 2 weeks and one of the batteries is already showing signs of dying. Really, these toothbrushes are of terrible quality. The bristles are stiff and look and feel cheap. and if the kids can't start brushing their teeth on their own, you're only complicating your nightly routine! I'm about to finish cleaning them, but it doesn't teach them how to do it all. For now we have returned to the manuals and will improve the quality. 2 stars because I like them but my son doesn't
